MIOSTAT™ is a sterile solution used for intraocular injection. It contains carbachol as the active ingredient. The solution also includes sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride dehydrate, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, sodium acetate trihydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, and water for injection. The pH range is 6.5-7.5.
Intraocular use of MIOSTAT* (carbachol intraocular solution, USP) 0.01% is recommended for achieving miosis during surgery. It also helps in reducing the increase in intraocular pressure (IOP) within the first 24 hours following cataract surgery.
