Pertuzumab is a type of antibody that targets a specific protein called HER2. It is produced using recombinant DNA technology in a mammalian cell culture. Pertuzumab is available as a sterile liquid for intravenous infusion. Each vial contains 420 mg of pertuzumab at a concentration of 30 mg/mL in a solution containing L-histidine acetate, sucrose, and polysorbate 20.
PERJETA is a HER2/neu receptor antagonist indicated for the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast Cancer (MBC) in combination with trastuzumab and docetaxel, for patients who have not received prior anti-HER2 therapy or chemotherapy for metastatic disease. It is also indicated for the neoadjuvant treatment of HER2-positive, locally advanced, inflammatory, or early stage breast cancer (either greater than 2 cm in diameter or node positive) in combination with trastuzumab and chemotherapy, as part of a complete treatment regimen for early breast cancer. Additionally, it is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of HER2-positive early breast cancer at high risk of recurrence.
